What is Potato Flakes?
Potatoes flakes or instant mashed potatoes are potatoes that have been through an industrial process of cooking, mashing and dehydrating to yield a packaged convenience food that can be reconstituted by adding hot, cold water or milk, producing an approximation of mashed potatoes.
The preparation of dehydrated potato flakes starts with cooking and mashing the potatoes. Subsequently, the mashed potatoes are pressed on to a drum drier by a roller to form sheets. The mashed potato sheets then undergo the process of quick-drying, which brings the humidity level to the desired value. The dried sheets are broken and ground to the required density to yield top-quality potato flakes.

Ready-made meals are celebrated as the harbinger of convenience; replacing a home-cooked main meal with simplistic food in user-friendly packaging, and requiring minimal preparation time, and with few or no added ingredients.Crispy nature in ready made meals are created with potato flakes coating.
